Summer in Steamboat is the best time of the year enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds you in the pristine Yampa Valley. Activities include a visit to one of the art galleries, world-class fly-fishing, golfing, mountain biking, hiking, tennis, balloon rides, alpine slides, ATV rides, horseback riding, pro rodeos, swimming at the hot springs in town, kayaking, tubing and rafting down the Yampa River.
When the evening arrives, you can stay home and throw a few steaks on the grill or venture out to enjoy the wide variety of over 70 bars and restaurants (casual to fine-dining). Several night clubs offer live music and dancing, and a comedy club keeps the fun on tap!
Before bed, you can relax in your own quiet retreat and slip into the private hot tub to count the multitudes of stars.
Annual events include the Strings in the Mountains concerts, Rainbow Weekend (a hot air balloon rodeo), the Marathon, Cowboy Roundup Days, Side-Walk Sale Days, the Fall Foliage Festival, Steamboat Mountain Brewfest, the Winter Carnival, the SnowBall, the St. Patrick's Day Torchlight Parade, and the Cardboard Classic.
Steamboat Springs is 157 miles northwest of Denver and is easily accessible by car or by plane. During ski season, non-stop jet flights (up to Boeing 757 size ), and are available from major cities nationwide, with connections from over 150 other cities.
